McKendree University

McKendree University is a privately-run, liberal arts, Methodist University located in Lebanon, Illinois, United States. It was founded in 1828 under the name of Lebanon Seminary and has the honor of being the oldest college in Illinois. Its name was changed by the Board of Trustees to Mckendree College in 1830, with permission from Bishop William McKendree. At the beginning of the 2007-2008 academic year, the College finally changed its name to Mckendree University. The University is located on a rural campus and grants admission to more than 1,500 students every year.

Mckendree University comprises of the following schools and colleges:

The university's athletic teams are called the Bearcats. The official mascot of Mckendree University is Bogey the Bearcat. The men's teams participate in hockey, basketball, soccer, baseball, football, tennis, golf, wrestling, bowling, and track & field. The women's teams participate in volleyball, bowling, softball, soccer, cross country, track & field, basketball, and golf.

McKendree Athletics

School sports include football (Mid-States Football Association), basketball (American Midwest Conference), baseball (American Midwest Conference), and track (American Midwest Conference).

McKendree offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 204 male students received the aid (men were 58% of those receiving aid) and 147 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 42% of students receiving such aid) .
