Overview

The Methodist Theological School, located in Delaware, Ohio, is commonly known as Methesco or MTSO. MTSO, which forms a part of one of the 13 seminaries of the United Methodist Church, was established in 1958. This followed the authorization of its founding at the General Conference of the Methodist Church in 1956. MTSO, set on a 70-acre campus, offers a variety of certificate courses and degree programs in theology and Christian education. A doctorate degree in ministry is also available at MTSO. Some of the areas of study are divinity, theological studies, counseling ministries and general ministry.

MTSO has a number of student initiated groups and organizations. The Pastoral Care department of Riverside Methodist Hospital provides free short-term counseling for all students of MTSO. Students are also provided financial aid if they are eligible. The Premier scholarships, the Canaday Scholarship, the Madon Endowed Scholarship and the Presidential Scholarships are available scholarships. Other than these, grants and loans are also available.
