Overview
The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Institute of Health Professions is an institute dedicated to the education of health care professionals. The institute is an academic affiliate of the MGH. The MGH Institute of Health Professions was founded as the MGH School of Nursing in 1873. It was awarded degree-granting authority in 1977 by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Some of the interdisciplinary courses offered at the institute are in the fields of microbiology, teaching skills, healthcare operations and management and legal standards in health information.
An active Student Government Association serves the interests of the students. The campus also hosts several other student clubs include International Health Club, Crossroads, Integrative Medicine Club and KinsIHP (GBLT) Club.
