Overview

Milwaukee School of Engineering, also known as MSOE, is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. It was established in 1903. The school is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

MSOE has been recognized for the high quality of its education offerings. For example in 2009 the US News & World Report publication ranked the school as the 7th Best undergraduate college in the Midwest US among those that focus on undergraduate education. Its undergraduate engineering programs were also ranked by the publication as being 11th best overall among the top colleges whose highest degree is a bachelor's or master's.

The college campus occupies an area of 15 acres of land. The main focus of MSOE is on undergraduate education, yet, they do offer nine master programs to students. MSOE is organized into the following academic departments:

MSOE is home to a variety of clubs and organizations. Some of them are Alpha Eta Mu Beta, Arnold Air Society, Biomedical Engineering Society, and Cigar and Pipe Social Club. The school has an active Greek life. MSOE’s fraternities and sororities have both national and local memberships.

The school also offers an art museum on-campus and its Kern Center, a 210,000 square foot health, wellness and fitness facility on-campus.

The school participates in NCAA Division III athletics with participation in 21 men's and women's intercollegiate sports. The team nickname is Raiders.
