The Mirrer Yeshiva Central Institute is commonly known as the Mirrer Yeshiva. The institute was founded in 1815 in Mir, Poland, where it remained until 1914. With the outbreak of World War I, it was moved to Ukraine and later on to places like Kobe, Japan and Shanghai, China. After World War II, the yeshiva was re-established with two campuses in Jerusalem, Israel and Brooklyn, New York. Rabbi Avraham Kalmanowitz established the Brooklyn branch of the yeshiva, which is an al male school. Students seeking admission at Mirrer Yeshiva are awarded bachelor’s degree in Talmudic literature.
