Overview

Missouri Southern State University is a state-run, public university. The university's campus is located in Joplin, Missouri. MSSU's was originally known as the Joplin Junior College, which was founded in 1937. In 2003, MSSU gained university status and was renamed Missouri Southern State University- Joplin. In 2005, it received its present name.
