Missouri State University-West Plains

Missouri State University West Plains is a separate, accredited campus of the Missouri State University System. Missouri State University is a two-year, public, open admission university. It was founded in 1963 as Southwest Missouri College by the Board of Regents. In 1995, the university was approved for a statewide mission in Public Affairs. It adopted its present name in 2005. The first students at the West Plains campus received their two-year business certificates from Southwest Missouri State University in 1973. At present, Missouri State University West Plains offers associate degrees in Arts, Science, and Applied Science. It also provides certification programs, bachelor degrees, and master degrees in several areas.

The College also provides facilities for distance learning and an honors program. Missouri State University West Plains’ athletic teams are known as the Grizzlies, and they participate in basketball and volleyball, among other sports.
