Monroe College-New Rochelle

Monroe College was established in 1933 as the Monroe School of Business. It was founded by Mildred King and was named after James Monroe, fifth President of the United States. The college enrolled only seven students in its first year. In addition to its New Rochelle campus, the college also has campuses in Bronx, New York, and in St. Lucia in the Caribbean. It offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study through the following schools:

  • School of General Studies
  • School of Hospitality Management & the Culinary Arts
  • School of Information Technology

Monroe College is home to many student clubs such as the Allied Health Club, Monroe Student Leaders, Students in Free Enterprise, Information Technology Student Association, Monroe Cheerleaders, Criminal Justice Club, The Poetry Club, National Association of Black Accountants, and Professional Convention Management Association.
