Overview

Montgomery College is a public community college located in Montgomery County, Maryland. It was founded in 1946 as Montgomery Junior College. Montgomery College has three campuses, and the largest one is located in Rockville.

Montgomery College enrolls over 58,000 credit and noncredit students. The college is recognized as one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse in the nation, with students from over 170 countries. It also has more than 1,500 faculty members.

Montgomery College grants two-year associate degrees and several professional certificates and letters of recognition. The degrees offered include Associate of Science (A.S.), Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.), Associate of Arts in Teaching (A.A.T.), and Associate of Fine Arts (A.F.A.).

Each Montgomery College campus has its individual athletic teams. The athletic teams of Rockville Campus are known as Knights, Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus are known as Falcons, and Germantown Campus are called Gryphons. They compete in the NJCAA.
