Overview

Montserrat College of Art, a private, four-year institute located in Beverley, Massachusetts, is a residential art school that was established in the late sixties. Initially, the institute was known as Montserrat School of Visual Arts but it was renamed in 1980. The 19th century Hardie Building serves as the center of the campus. The institute grants bachelor’s degree in subjects which include animation and interactive media, graphic design and illustration.

Montserrat College of Art is home to organizations like the Student Voice. The college offers field trips as well as seasonal and part-time on-campus employment opportunities. The college boasts of a number of notable alumni who include Sigrid Olsen, fashion designer; Carlos Dorrien, sculptor and Giles Laroche, children’s book illustrator.
