Mount Angel Seminary, located in St. Benedict, Oregon, was formed in 1882 by Benedictine monks from the Abbey of Engelberg in Switzerland. Its students, who are all prospective clergy, have obtained training needed to become priests. Students can pursue programs in advanced theology at the seminary. The seminary is very selective in admitting students and maintains a very low student enrollment.

Mount Angel Seminary organizes a number of events such as the Bach Festival and the Festival of Art & Wine. It also publishes a regular newsletter. The seminary has an extensive library resource facility for students and faculty.
