Overview

Mount Holyoke College is located in South Hadley, Massachusetts, United States. It was originally established in the year 1837 by Mary Lyon, chemist and educator, and was then known as Mount Holyoke Female Seminary. This college is the world’s oldest continuing institution for women’s higher education. The college received its present name in 1893. It offers degrees and certificate programs in various areas of study including anthropology, mathematics and statistics, computer science, education, film studies, and politics.

Mount Holyoke College is home to more than 150 student clubs and organizations including the College Democrats, Environmental Action Coalition, Lapidary and Silversmithing Club, Newman Association, Protestant Council of Deacons, and Student Government Association.
