Mount Union College

Mount Union College, established in 1846 in Alliance, Ohio, was founded by Orville Nelson Hartshorn for the education of both men and women with equal opportunity. The Scio College merged with Mount Union in 1910. The college, which sits on 115 acres, offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the fields of computer science, foreign languages, Asian studies, political science, sociology, and religious studies.

The sports teams of the Mount Union College, nicknamed as the Purple Raiders, compete in the NCAA Division III athletics as well as the Ohio Athletic Conference. The teams participate in cross country, soccer, tennis, baseball, basketball, softball, and volleyball. The students are also active in organizations such as the Black Student Union, as well as others.
