Mountain Empire Community College, also referred to as MECC, is located in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, United States. It is among the 23 schools under the Virginia Community College System. The construction of the college began in 1971, and the first classes were held in 1972. The college offers associate degrees in various areas including accounting, management, and paralegal studies. Mountain Empire Community College sponsors a large number of student clubs and organizations.
