Overview
Mountain View College's first classes were held in 1970. It is a part of the Dallas County Community College District. The college offers a number of degrees and certificate programs. MVC also offers several scholarship programs including the DCCCD Foundation Scholarships, Scholarships for Low Income and Minority Students, Erin Tierney Kramp Scholarship and the LeCroy Scholarship. At present, the college enrolls more than 10,000 students. MVC is organized into the following academic divisions:

- Career and Technical Education Division
- Communications and Teacher Education Division
- Science, Allied Health and Physical Education Division
MVC has several student clubs and organizations. Some of these are the Rising Star Club, Black Student Organization, Baseball Club, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, Latin Dance Club, Xi De Texas, Sigma Delta Mu, National Spanish Honor Society, Aviation Club, Chess Club and the MVC Magic Club.
