Overview

Mountainland Applied Technology College was established by the Mountainland Region Vocational and Technical Education Coordinating Committee in 1989. In 2001, the Utah State Legislature passed a House Bill in a special session leading to the creation of the Utah College of Applied Technology. The bill was enforced as a law in the same year, and Mountainland Applied Technology Center officially became an affiliate campus of UCAT.

MATC offers career oriented education through a large number of certificate programs. Associate of Applied Technology degrees are also available in selected disciplines. Programs offered by the college are organized under the following divisions, Automotive Technology & Transportation, Business Technology, General Industry & Technical Programs, Health Care Technology, and Information Technology.

MATC also offers distance learning opportunities and weekend classes. Additional services offered by the college include remedial services, academic/career counseling, part-time cost defraying employment opportunities, and career placement services.
