Naropa University

Naropa University is a private American liberal arts university located in Boulder, Colorado. The university was founded in the year 1974 by Tibetan Buddhist teacher Chögyam Trungpa, and was named after the 11th century Indian Buddhist sage Naropa. It offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in several subjects including contemplative psychology, environmental studies, and early childhood education. In addition, the university offers distance learning and study abroad programs, as well as extended study courses along with the Summer Writing Program.

Campus life in Naropa University is quite active. Among the on-campus student clubs and organizations include the Student Life Programming Council, Naropa Tibetan Debate Club, United Naropa, and The Cult of Vimilakirti. The university also has a student operated weekly known as the Naropa Weekly.
