Nassau Community College

Nassau Community College, or NCC, was established in 1960 as part of the State University of New York (SUNY). It is the largest of the 30 community colleges of SUNY. The college opened on February 1, 1960, with 632 students. Presently, NCC has numerous academic programs including anthropology, natural and physical sciences, business administration, and African American studies. Some of its renowned programs are mathematics, chemistry, physics, and engineering.

NCC offers several scholarships for talented students including the Cinthia Navarro Memorial Scholarship, Nassau County Awards Full-Time Scholarship, Nassau/Suffolk Library Association Scholarship, David Hochhauser Memorial Scholarship, SUNY Empire State and NCC Foundation Diversity Honors Scholarship, and many more.

Some of the most notable alumni of NCC are Steve Israel, United States Congressman; Bruce Arena, coach of the United States men's national soccer team; and Brian Baldinger, Radio and TV commentator.
