National Labor College, located in Silver Spring, Maryland, was founded in 1974. The college was originally known as the George Meany Center for Labor Studies. After a few name changes, it came to be known by its current name in 2004. Commonly abbreviated as NLC, the college has a 47-acre campus. It offers programs leading to bachelor’s degrees in areas of study like labor studies, union leadership and administration, instructional technology and organization development.
