Overview

Established in 1960, New College of Florida is located in Sarasota, Florida, and is a public liberal arts college. The college is spread across an area of 144 acres. New College's recent enrollments have been over 700 students. Initially founded as a private institution for academically talented students by local civic leaders, it is now an autonomous honors college. It is a unit of the State University System of Florida. Students at New College can choose from more than 30 different areas of concentration or majors. The three divisions of academics include:

The students at New College are also involved in various on-campus clubs and organizations such as Africa Club, Ben and Jerry’s Devotional Society, Anarchist Theory Reading Group, Best Buddies, Origami Club, CODEPINK and Beekeeping/ Apiculture Club.
