Overview

The New Hampshire Institute of Art, also referred to as NHIA, is located in Manchester, New Hampshire. Founded in 1898 as the Manchester Institute of Arts and Sciences, the college is a private, four-year institution. The college serves as an important cultural center for New Hampshire, as is the only independent art college in the state. It confers bachelor’s degrees in ceramics, illustration, painting and photography, among others. It also offers certificate courses through its continuing education program. Its campus consists of four academic buildings and three dormitories.

The New Hampshire Institute of Art features organizations like the Student Council, which is responsible for organizing concerts, exhibitions, trips to New York and Boston and providing internships. The institute offers academic counseling to its students.
