Overview
New Mexico State University, or NMSU, is a land-grant university and its main campus is in Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States. It was originally founded in 1888 as Las Cruces College. It received the status of university in 1960. NMSU enrolls more than 30,000 students yearly.
NMSU offers a wide variety of programs and awards associate, bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees through its main campus and other community colleges. It is home to New Mexico's NASA Space Grant Program, and is one of 52 institutions in the U.S to be designated a Space Grant College. The university is divided into the following academic divisions:
