Overview

New River Community College, located in Dublin, Virginia, is also referred to as NRCC, and was established in 1958 after members of the Radford City school board and city council met to discuss the possibility of an area vocational school. Funds were appropriated by Pulaski County, Montgomery County, and Radford City to support the new school. Originally known as New River Vocational-Technical School, today NRCC enrolls more than 4,000 students annually. NRCC is under the Virginia Community College system and offers its students various degree and certificate programs through its many academic departments including:

  • Marketing

New River Community College has various clubs and organizations for its students including the Multi-Cultural Club, the Black Awareness Association, the Sign Language Club, Phi Theta Kappa, and Campus Crusade for Christ. Students also participate in sports such as basketball, baseball, soccer and softball.
