Overview
New York School of Interior Design, NYSID, was founded in 1916 by architect Sherrill Whiton and was chartered in 1924. It's the only school in New York that is completely focused on interior design education.
The campus of NYSID is in Manhattan's Upper East Side. It consists of two renovated hundred year old Renaissance-Revival buildings. Students are offered programs leading to degrees like Associate in Applied Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Master of Fine Arts, Master of Professional Studies as well as certificate programs. The college offers continuing education through its Institute for Continuing and Professional Studies.
NYSID assists students in financing their education through various standard federal aid programs. Scholarships and fellowships available to the students include The Alumni Scholar Award, Barbara Bernie Scholarship, The Jean Chisholm Lindsey Fellowship and Trustee Assistantships.
