Overview
North Carolina Central University, also referred to as NCCU, is a comprehensive university located in Durham, North Carolina, United States. NCCU is the nation’s first public, liberal arts institution founded for African-Americans. It was chartered in 1909 as a private institution and opened on July 10, 1910. NCCU offers programs at the bachelor, master, professional, and selected doctoral levels. The most popular fields of study are nursing, biology, business administration, political science, and psychology. NCCU is organized into the following schools and colleges:
