Overview

North Central College, also known as NCC, is a private, four-year college located in Naperville, Illinois, United States. It was founded in 1861. The college campus spreads across an area of more than 55 acres in Naperville. It was originally named Plainfield College and was located in Plainfield, Illinois. The first classes began on November 11, 1861. It became North-Western College on February 15, 1864. It moved to its present location in 1870 and adopted its current name in 1926. It offers Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in more than 50 majors.

The students of NCC run several clubs and organizations such as the American Marketing Association, Students in Free Enterprise, Student Governing Association, Asian Student Konnection, International Club, Student Global AIDS Campaign, NCC Dance Team, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

NCC participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III and in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. The sports teams are nicknamed the Cardinals.
