Northern New Mexico College, NNMC, was established in 1909. Located in New Mexico, the college was founded as the Spanish American Normal School. It came to be known as the Northern New Mexico Community College in 1977, and then became Northern New Mexico College in 2005. The college campuses include the Espanola campus, and El Rito campus. The college offers educational programs through the following academic colleges :

- College of Engineering
- College of Math and Science
The sports teams of the college, known as the Eagles, participate in basketball and softball. The students of Northern New Mexico College can take advantage of the Espanola Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship, the Legislative Lottery Scholarship, or the Northern Bridge Scholarship.
