Overview

Northwest Nazarene University, also referred to as NNU, was founded in 1913 as an elementary school called the Idaho Holiness School. Later on, it was renamed Northwest Nazarene College. The college became a university in the 1960s and adopted its present name in 1999. It is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. It offers an array of undergraduate and graduate degrees and programs in diverse areas of study. NNU is divided into the following schools:

  • School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
  • School of Business
  • School of Education, Social Work and Counseling
  • School of Health and Science
  • School of Theology and Christian Ministries

The Student Government of NNU helps to develop the leadership and communication skills of the students and voices their concerns to the administration. It also governs the various on-campus student clubs and organizations. NNU also has a student-run newspaper known as the "Crusader."
