Overview

Northwood University Midland, also known as NU, is a private university that was established in 1959. It covers an area of more than 90 acres. The university operates a number of campuses located in Cedar Hill, Texas Midland in Michigan, and West Palm Beach in Florida. NU records an enrollment, of over 5,000 students every year. NU was originally created as the Northwood Institute and was situated in a 19th century mansion located in Alma, Michigan. It was moved to its present location and renamed in 1961. The university runs a joint program in association with the Hotel Institute Montreux located in Montreux, Switzerland.

NU possesses a prominent athletics department and the students participate in various sports and events such as men’s and women’s baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, women's volleyball, and cheerleading.

Athletics
