Oakland City University

Oakland City University is situated in Oakland City in the northeastern region of Gibson County. It is the only college in the United States affiliated by General Baptist. The college was founded in June 1885. The college campus sits on 34 acres of land. Oakland City University offers associate, bachelor, master, and doctorate degree programs to its students. Adult degrees and e-learning programs are also available. Oakland City University has five main schools under it, which include:

• Schools of Arts and Sciences
• Schools of Business
• Schools of Education
• Chapman School of Religious Studies

Students of Oakland City University are members of a variety of religious groups, musical groups, honor societies, professional groups, and virtual arts groups. Some of these organizations are Alpha Psi Omega, Davidsbuendle, Sigma Kappa Sigma, Concert Choir, Music Educators National Conference, Student Government Association (SGA), and S.A.L.T. (Students for Artistic Learning and Technology).

Undergrads are 89% of enrolled students and graduate students are 11%.

Among freshmen students, 93% are full-time and 7% are part-time.

Athletics

The school is in the Division II Independents for major sports.

The school offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 54 male students received the aid (men were 53% of those receiving aid) and 47 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 47% of students receiving such aid) .
