Overview

Ocean County College, also known as OCC, was established in 1969. The college encompasses more than 270 acres in Toms River. In addition to its main campus in Toms River, OCC has learning centers in Manahawkin and Brick. As of Spring 2007, the college had more than 9,300 students. The college offers numerous associate degree and certificate programs. OCC is organized into the following academic departments:

  • Department of Business, Economics, and Computer Studies
  • Department of English and Literature
  • Department of Health Sciences, Human Performance, Science and Engineering
  • Department of Humanities, Fine Arts, and Media Studies
  • Department of Mathematics
  • Department of Social Science, Education, and Public Service

There are several Greek Organizations at OCC. These fraternities and sororities include Alpha Beta Gamma, Phi Theta Kappa, Psi Beta, Sigma Delta Mu, and Beta Chi. Other student organizations at OCC are the Criminal Justice Club, Meeting with Art, Student Nurses Organization, Business Club, History Club, Association for Pre-Health Professional, and many more.
