Overview

Old Dominion University, or ODU, is a large, public, research university located in historic Norfolk, Virginia, United States. It was founded in 1930 as the Norfolk Division of the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. It attained the status of university in 1969. ODU offers a wide range of degree programs and is one of the largest providers of online distance learning courses in the nation.

The Princeton Review has named Old Dominion University as a Best Southeastern College. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:
