Olivet Nazarene University or ONU, was founded in 1907, and is situated in Bourbonnais, Illinois. It was established as a grammar college by a group of families in East-Central Illinois. The campus has more than 25 buildings, and is located on nearly 250 acres.
The college confers associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees to the students. It is divided into the following academic schools and colleges:

- School of Graduate and Continuing Studies
Olivet Nazarene University has an active student life, and hosts numerous clubs and organizations. Some of its departmental clubs include the Astronomy Club, the Computer Club, the Engineering Club, and the Equestrian Club. ONU's student body is diverse and represents over 20 countries and 40 states. Their sports teams are nicknamed Tigers.

AthleticsSchool sports include football (Mid-States Football Association), basketball (Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference), baseball (Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference), and track (Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference). The school offers financial aid for athletes. Of students receiving athletic financial aid, 188 male students received the aid (men were 67% of those receiving aid) and 93 women were awarded financial aid based on athletics (representing 33% of students receiving such aid) .
