Overview

Palomar College was founded in 1946. The main campus covers approximately 200 acres in San Marcos, California. Palomar College also has eight additional satellite centers in San Diego County. The college offers more than 250 associate degrees and certificate programs.

Palomar College offers a number of courses and programs including administration of justice, business management, computer science and information systems, and foreign languages.

Palomar College includes several students’ clubs such as the Engineering Club, Pre-Med Club, College Republicans of Palomar College, Geoscience Connection, Archaeology Club, Photography Club, Anime Club, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Palomar College Democrats, Speech and Debate Club, and Phi Theta Kappa.

Some notable alumni of Palomar College are Candi Kubeck, the captain of ValuJet Flight 592 that crashed on May 11, 1996 into the Florida Everglades; and Gene Knight, the popular San Diego radio personality.
