Overview

Established in 1944, as the Oakland Bible Institute by Evangelical preacher Dr. Bebe Patten, Patten University is a private institution. It is located in Oakland, California, United States, and the campus is spread across an area of 15 acres. The institute offers bachelor’s and associate’s degrees in fields including business, religion, sciences and liberal arts. Besides, the students can also get master’s degrees in business management and education. The university also has Weekend Science Courses. Patten University has four major divisions, which include:

  • Division of Arts, Sciences and Business
  • Division of Biblical and Theological Studies
  • Division of Continuing and Extended Education
  • Division of Education

Patten University has strong athletic teams and participates in several sports of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). They are nicknamed as Lions and Lady Lions.
