Overview
Paul Quinn College, PQC, is a historically black, private college in Dallas, Texas that was founded in 1872 in Austin, Texas. It moved to its present location in Dallas in 1990. PQC is named in honor of William Paul Quinn, the 4th bishop of the AME Church. The college, which sits on 130 acres, offers degree programs in biology, computer science, legal studies, business administration, interdisciplinary studies, and physical education.
Paul Quinn College offers intercollegiate athletic programs for both men and women. The sports teams of the college have won 16 conference championships since 1983. The college mascot is nicknamed the Tiger.
Student activities include social, cultural, and intramural events to develop well-formed individuals. Some of the student clubs and organizations at PQC are Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the Jazz Band, the Student National Educational Association, and Phi Beta Lambda.
