Overview

Pennsylvania Highlands Community College is a community college and vocational school located in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, United States. The school's origins date to 1993 when the Cambria County Commissioners voted to become the local sponsors for Cambria County Area Community College (CCACC). Its establishment was approved shortly after by the State Board of Education. The first classes were held in 1994. In 2004 the college name was changed to Pennsylvania Highlands Community College.

The college offers more than 30 associate’s degrees, diplomas and certificates in diverse areas of study including Health Care Management, Environmental Science and Technology, and Liberal Arts. The college is organized into over four separate academic departments. Pennsylvania Highlands Community College also offers distance education and continuing education programs. In addition to Johnstown, the school has a Richland, PA campus and runs education centers in Ebensburg, Huntington, and Somerset.

Pennsylvania Highlands Community College has an active student life. The campus hosts several student organizations and clubs. Some of the popular student organizations include Early Childhood Education Club, Fellowship of Christian Scholars, Phi Theta Kappa, and Psychology Club.
