Overview
Until July 2010 Pensacola State College was known as Pensacola Junior College. The college is located in Pensacola, Florida, United States. It was established 1948 and was the first institute of higher learning in the town. Pensacola offers more than 100 majors and areas of study, along with the latest high-tech resources and many exciting opportunities for students.
The College offers bachelor and associate degrees, vocational certifications, and an adult high school. It enrolls more than 25,000 students every year. Pensacola operates WSRE, the main PBS station in Pensacola. Their athletic teams compete in various sports. Their official mascot is a Pirate.
Some notable alumni of the school are are Jerry L. Maygarden, former member of the Florida House of Representatives; Victoria Zdrok, Playboy Playmate, writer; and Joel Anthony, former basketball player for the National Basketball Association.
