Overview
Raritan Valley Community College was founded on November 16, 1965 as Somerset County College. The first classes were held on September 12, 1968 with 229 students. It adopted its current name in July 1987. The college is also nicknamed RVCC. The campus is spread across an area of around 240 acres in Somerville, New Jersey. The college includes a 100-seat Planetarium. RVCC is organized into the following academic divisions:

RVCC is home to several student clubs and organizations.
