Overview

Rend Lake College is located in Illinois and was founded in 1955. It was originally known as Mt. Vernon Community College but received its present name on December 20, 1966, during its organization under the Illinois Junior College Act. Distance learning and online courses are provided by the college. There are over 55 associate degree programs and more than 40 occupational certificate programs offered by the college. RLC also provides online courses for its students.

The student life at the college is very active. The students of Rend Lake College are involved in various campus clubs and organizations, including Active College Christians, Computer Club, Creative Writing Club and Thespians Club. There are also recreational facilities for softball, baseball and volleyball.
