Overview
River Parishes Community College is an open admission college. It is a two-year public college located in Sorrento, Louisiana. The institution is a part of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. The College offers transferable courses, associate's degrees and various certificates. Programs are offered in the fields of general studies, liberal arts and sciences, general studies, humanities and liberal arts. Special preference is given to the usage of new technology for the improvement of teaching and learning. It has an impressive enrollment of international students including African-American students.
River Parishes Community College has an online library called the Learning Express Library. The school also publishes a student-run newspaper.
