Overview
Rowan University is a public university located in Glassboro, New Jersey, United States. It was founded in 1923 as Glassboro Normal School. After a few name and status changes, it finally became Rowan University on March 21, 1997. The main campus consists of more than 45 buildings and covers 200 acres. The university offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study. The university is organized into the following academic divisions:

Rowan University has two main student-run publications, The Whit and Venue. Rowan Radio 89.7 WGLS-FM is the student-run radio station. More than 10% of male students and over 5% of female students belong to a fraternity or sorority at Rowan University. There are also over 75 recognized student clubs and organizations on campus.
