Overview

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, also is the largest institution for higher education in the state of New Jersey. It was founded on November 10, 1766 and the New Brunswick Campus is Rutgers University's largest campus. It covers an area of 1,989 acres and is organized into several undergraduate, graduate and professional schools, which include:

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Big East Conference for major sports.
