Overview

Rutgers-Newark is the Newark campus of Rutgers University. It was formerly known as the University of Newark. It merged with Rutgers in 1946 by an act of the New Jersey legislature to form Rutgers-Newark. US News & World Report ranked Rutgers-Newark as the most diverse university campus in the United States. The campus is spread across an area of 35 acres. It offers a wide variety of degrees and programs through the following academic divisions:

Rutgers-Newark fields more than 8 sports teams. They are nicknamed the Scarlet Raiders.
