Overview
Sacramento City College, or SCC, is a two-year community college located in Sacramento, California, United States. It was founded in 1916 as the Department of Sacramento High School. It is the seventh oldest public community college in California, and the oldest institution of higher learning in Sacramento. SCC is part of the Los Rios Community College District. It enrolls more than 22,000 students.
Many students of Sacramento City College have become famous such as Michael James Adams, aviator and NASA astronaut; Kurt Edward Fishback, photographer; and Facundo Cuno Barragan, former MLB catcher to name a few.
The sports teams of SCC are known as the Panthers. There is a special International student center in the college which takes care of the needs of foreign students.
