Overview

Saginaw Valley State University, also known as SVSU, is located in the state of Michigan, United States. It was established on 13 November, 1963. The university offers a wide variety of degrees and programs in diverse areas of study. SVSU is organized into the following academic divisions:

  • Crystal M. Lange College of Health and Human Services

Many students of SVSU have become famous. Some notable alumni of the university are Anthony J. Ceccacci, NASA Flight Director; Bart Stupak, Congressman; and James A. Barcia, Congressman, State Representative, and State Senator.

SVSU’s official mascot is known as the Cardinals.

Athletics

School sports include football, basketball, baseball, and track. The school is in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for major sports.
