St. Ambrose University, established in 1882, is a private and coeducational university of Liberal Arts. It is a Roman Catholic university and is located in Davenport, Iowa. The university enrolls more than 3,500 students per year, of which more than 60% students are Roman Catholic. The university was founded as the school of commerce in 1882. After several name and status changes, it was given its present name in 1887. The university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in several fields of study.

St. Ambrose’s student body is diverse and the university possesses a prominent athletics department. The sports teams participate in various games which include Baseball, basketball, softball, volleyball, and golf.
