Overview
Saint Michael's College was founded in 1904 by the Society of Saint Edmund. In its initial year, the college enrolled 34 students. It became coeducational in 1970. The main campus spreads across an area of more than 400 acres in Colchester, Vermont, United States. It also has another campus, known as the North Campus, one mile away from the main campus. Saint Michael's offers numerous undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificate programs and attracts students from around 20 foreign countries.
Saint Michael's is home to several student organizations such as the Alianza Society, Business Club, Computer Club, Drama Club, Founders Society, Martin Luther King, Jr. Society, Photography Club, Peace and Justice Club, Ski and Snowboarding Club, and Fly Fishing Club.
Saint Michael's participates in a wide variety of sports including baseball, golf, basketball, skiing, cross country, tennis, rugby, lacrosse, softball, field hockey, swimming and diving, volleyball, and ice hockey. Their athletic teams are nicknamed the Purple Knights and compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II.
