Overview

Saint Paul's College, also known as SPC, was established on September 24, 1888 as the Saint Paul Normal and Industrial School. It was founded by James Solomon Russell, who was an Episcopal Priest. It was incorporated on March 4, 1890. It became Saint Paul's Polytechnic Institute in 1941. The college settled on its current name in 1957. The campus covers more than 180 acres of green hills in Lawrenceville, Virginia. SPC is organized into the following academic divisions:

  • Department of Humanities and Behavioral Sciences
  • Department of Natural Science and Mathematics
  • Department of Teacher Education

SPC competes in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Their men’s sports teams are called Tigers and the women's sports teams are nicknamed as the Lady Tigers.
