Overview

St. Thomas University, also known as STU, is located in Miami Gardens, Florida, United States. It was originally established as Biscayne College in 1961. However, it traces its roots to the formation of the Universidad Católica de Santo Tomás de Villanueva in Havana, Cuba in 1946, which was named for Saint Thomas of Villanova. Hence, STU adopted its present name, to reflect its Cuban heritage, when it received university status in 1984. STU attracts students from about 50 foreign countries and offers an array of degrees and certificate programs through the following schools and college:

  • School of Law

There are several student clubs at STU for students to get involved with. Some of these are the Political Action Club, Delta Epsilon Sigma Honors Society, Global Leadership Pax Romana Student Society, Black Student Union, International Students Association, Carpe Spiritum Singers, and Association of Latin-American Students.
